In August 2024, off-duty Officer Melvin Potter fatally shot Devon Anderson outside a bar on Old National Highway in South Fulton. Potter was relieved of duty, and his police-issued equipment was confiscated. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is examining the case, and Potter’s involvement in previous police investigations is noted. Anderson’s mother is seeking justice and demanding answers regarding her son’s death.
