Executive Assistant Paulette Thompson filed a federal lawsuit in October 2020 against former Chief Chris Byers and the City of Johns Creek, alleging sexual harassment. The lawsuit accused Byers of making multiple sexual advances and inappropriate comments. Thompson resigned in March 2021 as part of an out-of-court settlement, receiving $105,000, while her attorney received $60,000.
