    In August 2023, former Rome Police Officer Rodney Lynn Clemones was indicted on charges of sexual exploitation of children, second-degree cruelty to children, and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. Clemones provided alcohol to a minor, engaged in a sexual relationship with her, videotaped a sex act, and instructed her to keep the relationship secret. He was released on bond with conditions prohibiting contact with the minor and certain locations.
