In 2018, Officer Jamol Jones was terminated from the Benton Police Department for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl and subsequently lying about it during the investigation. Although the minor’s mother did not wish to press charges, Jones was dismissed for violating department policies. He later served as a police officer with the Department of Veterans Affairs and was appointed chairman of the Arkansas Parole Board in 2024.
