Create And Track Police Department History

Officer Bryce Linskey, a member and team leader of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), was disciplined for investigating an incident without following the chain of command. In July 2004, after a potentially suicidal and armed man was barricaded, Linskey, while off-duty, went to the police station to question dispatchers and officers about the decision not to activate the ERT. This action violated department policy. Following an internal investigation, Linskey received a ‘coaching and counseling memorandum’ for failing to follow the chain of command, was censured for disrespecting a superior officer, and was removed as a team leader for the ERT.
