In 2020, while off-duty, Sergeant Christopher Griffin pursued and confronted a driver, Ryan DeVivo, whom he accused of erratic driving. The confrontation led to a physical altercation. DeVivo filed a lawsuit alleging assault, which was settled in 2024 for $9,250. Internal affairs and state police investigations cleared Griffin of any departmental policy violations.
