James Arnold – Fort Wayne Police Department

In January 2013, Officer James Arnold was involved in an incident where a Michigan man, Casey Wentzel, sustained skull and facial fractures and a concussion during an arrest. An internal investigation concluded that Arnold used excessive force, resulting in a 30-day suspension. The City of Fort Wayne settled the subsequent lawsuit for $125,000. Arnold remains with the department.
