In 2018, Lieutenant Robert Turner was involved in an incident where he drew his gun on a fellow officer in the department parking lot, believing the officer was about to deploy a police dog on him. An internal investigation concluded that the dog did not threaten Turner and that the other officer’s statement was conversational. Turner was placed on administrative leave and later terminated. He filed a lawsuit alleging mistreatment and retaliation by Police Chief Lee White and Captain David Hagar. ([casetext.com](https://casetext.com/case/turner-v-city-of-coeur-d-alene?utm_source=openai))
