In November 2017, Officer Daniel Gray was charged with two counts of first-degree official misconduct after allegedly agreeing not to arrest a woman in exchange for sexual favors. The woman reported that she had sex with Gray multiple times at a hotel to avoid arrest for violating her probation. Gray admitted to having sexual relations with the woman on two occasions and subsequently resigned from the Hopkinsville Police Department.
