    In May 2017, Officer Jack Lingenfelter’s K-9 partner, Eddie, bit a 6-year-old girl at Millbrooke Elementary School. The incident occurred when the child unexpectedly appeared near the playground, attracting the dog’s attention. Despite Lingenfelter’s attempts to control Eddie, the dog bit the child multiple times, causing non-life-threatening injuries. Following an internal investigation, Eddie was removed from service, and Lingenfelter was suspended for one week without pay and removed from the K-9 unit.
