Former Officer Norman Gaudette was accused of sexually abusing multiple teenage boys in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Lawsuits filed in 2015 and 2017 alleged that Gaudette used his position to exploit minors, including renting motel rooms to facilitate abuse. Although criminal charges were not filed, civil lawsuits resulted in settlements in 2022.
