In January 2020, Officer Kevin Christmon was involved in an incident where he and another officer found a 5-year-old boy who had wandered away from East Silver Spring Elementary School. Body-camera footage showed Christmon yelling at the child, pushing him into a patrol car while he was crying, and later placing handcuffs on him at the school. The incident led to disciplinary actions against Christmon, though specific details were not publicly disclosed. The child’s family filed a lawsuit against Christmon, the other officer, the Montgomery County Police Department, and the Montgomery County Board of Education, which was settled in August 2022 for $275,000. Christmon remained employed with the department following the incident.

  • Share Your Experience: Submit your own police interaction story
  • Browse the Forums: Check if your local law enforcement has been documented

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
