    In July 2023, Officer Carlos Taylor was involved in a traffic stop outside of his jurisdiction in Centerline, Michigan. During the stop, Taylor participated in taking the driver to the ground and tasing him multiple times without clear justification. He was charged with assault and battery and willful failure to uphold the law, and was subsequently fired from the department.
