In October 2021, Officer Benjamin Truong responded to a robbery report and later contacted the victim multiple times, asking her out for coffee and suggesting communication via Instagram. His actions were deemed inappropriate, especially given the victim’s recent trauma. Truong received a written reprimand for violating the department’s ethics code.
