In June 2016, Officer Nicholas J. Carlson exposed himself to a female employee at Logan Valley Golf Course in Wakefield. He resigned from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and was subsequently hired by the Fremont Police Department. After further incidents, including exposing himself to a female clerk in Fremont in October 2016, he resigned at the request of the police chief. Carlson pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of public indecency and voluntarily surrendered his law enforcement certification on January 19, 2018.
