Between March 2020 and December 2023, Trenton Police Department officers were involved in 815 use-of-force incidents, with approximately 15% involving pepper spray. The department has paid over $7 million since 2021 to resolve misconduct lawsuits. Internal affairs investigations from 2018 to 2023 did not sustain a single allegation of excessive force or illegal stops and arrests. The Department of Justice found a pattern of unconstitutional policing, including excessive force and unlawful stops, searches, and arrests, leading to a federal investigation and recommendations for comprehensive reforms.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Violation of these rules will result in immediate content removal and possible account suspension.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
