On June 5, 2015, Sgt. James Kelly was involved in a domestic violence investigation where he failed to make a mandatory arrest. To cover this oversight, he falsified the report and altered another officer’s report to align with his false account. When the issue was investigated, Sgt. Kelly attempted to retaliate against the reporting officer. As a result, he received a six-day suspension, which he was allowed to schedule at his discretion.
