On December 27, 2013, Officer Lillo struck a handcuffed man, Brandon Walsh, in the head with a flashlight during an arrest. He falsified records to conceal his conduct. Lillo pleaded guilty in 2015 to deprivation of civil rights and falsifying records, and was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison in November 2018. He resigned following the incident.
