In June 2000, Lt. Jerry Archuleta failed to adequately supervise the response to a report of a missing seven-year-old child, Robbie Romero, who was never found. Archuleta did not issue a bulletin, personally search for the child, or notify his chain of command. This negligence led to his demotion from lieutenant to sergeant and required additional training.
