In April 2024, Officer Porter was arrested on three counts of third-degree rape involving a minor. The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Bureau, which received a report of a sex offense involving a juvenile victim. Following his arrest, Officer Porter was placed on a 30-day administrative leave and subsequently fired by the Niagara Falls Police Department. His police training certification was also decertified by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
