    In May 2008, Officer Sweeney participated in a SWERT raid on the residence of Terebesi. During the operation, Sweeney entered the family room and, perceiving a threat, discharged his weapon multiple times, resulting in the death of Gonzalo Guizan. The incident led to a lawsuit alleging excessive force and constitutional violations. The court found sufficient factual disputes to deny summary judgment for Sweeney, indicating potential liability for the use of deadly force during the raid.
