Michael DiMeglio – Norwalk Police Department

Former Officer Michael DiMeglio resigned in October 2021 after being caught drinking and driving while on duty. Between October 8 and 9, 2021, DiMeglio and colleague Sara Laudano consumed alcohol in their police cruisers, ignored calls for service, and were later found in a hotel room together. Both were charged with second-degree larceny and second-degree reckless endangerment in January 2021, later pleading guilty to lesser charges. The Police Officer Standards and Training Council decertified DiMeglio, determining he had ‘betrayed the public trust.’ In June 2023, DiMeglio sued the city, claiming wrongful denial of his pension; the city contends he did not serve enough time to be eligible.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
