Former Allentown police officer Jason Krasley was charged in November 2024 with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, as well as tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. Authorities allege that in May 2019, during a search at a Hamilton Street barbershop, Krasley stole $5,500. An inventory receipt initially showed $16,000 was seized, but a later receipt indicated only $10,500 was taken. Krasley was one of several officers involved in the search. He was arraigned and released on $100,000 unsecured bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for December 5, 2024.
