On December 14, 2016, Officer Iannacito was involved in an incident where he allegedly used excessive force on an individual named Tarver in the Emergency Room. The actions included tackling Tarver while he was restrained in shackles, which reportedly worsened Tarver’s pre-existing injury. Additionally, Iannacito allegedly prevented Tarver from using the bathroom during this time. Following the incident, Iannacito sustained a fractured finger and subsequently pursued felony assault charges against Tarver. The case was documented in LaPietra v. City of Albany Police Dep’t, 9:19-CV-1527 (TJM/TWD).
