Eric G. Baptiste – Virginia Beach Police Department

In June 2024, Deputy Eric G. Baptiste, along with two other deputies, restrained inmate Rolin Hill at the Virginia Beach jail, leading to Hill’s death from asphyxia. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide. Baptiste was subsequently charged with second-degree murder and dismissed from the Sheriff’s Office.
