Eric G. Baptiste – Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office

In June 2024, Deputy Eric G. Baptiste, along with two other deputies, restrained inmate Rolin Hill, leading to Hill’s death from asphyxia caused by neck and torso compression. Baptiste was charged with second-degree murder in January 2025 and subsequently dismissed from the Sheriff’s Office.
