Former Police Chief John King faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct during his tenure from 2014 to 2017. In July 2014, a dispatcher reported that King made inappropriate comments about her breasts, referring to them as ‘puppies.’ In March 2015, another employee alleged that King groped her breast while complimenting her work. In January 2017, a police department volunteer accused King of rape. These allegations led to King’s resignation in March 2017. In July 2018, Provo City settled a lawsuit with five women who accused King of sexual harassment and assault, agreeing to pay $750,000.
