Chief Rick Harrison resigned in October 2020 amid undisclosed allegations against members of the Roosevelt Police Department. Prior to his resignation, Harrison had a history of disciplinary issues, including a 1993 incident where his law enforcement certification was revoked for illegally purchasing submachine guns for a friend. His certification was reinstated in 1997, marking the first such reinstatement in Utah history.
