On July 14, 2023, during a DUI investigation, Sgt. Eley failed to inform Officer Kati Powell that the suspect disclosed a traumatic brain injury, which is considered exculpatory evidence. Additionally, Sgt. Eley did not activate his body camera during the incident, violating department policy. These actions led to concerns about withholding critical information and non-compliance with procedural requirements.
