Officer Involved in Ellis Case – Tacoma Police Department

In January 2024, the Tacoma Police Chief cleared all officers involved in the 2020 death of Manuel Ellis, stating that none violated the department’s use of force policy at the time. However, the policy has since been updated to better serve the interests of the department and the community.
