In 2018, Officer Jon Kivlin faced multiple allegations, including improper use of the department’s confidential systems for personal purposes, leaving city limits in his patrol vehicle without authorization, and misrepresenting his availability to supervisors. An internal investigation substantiated these claims, leading to a proposed termination. Kivlin resigned from the department in August 2018, and the Criminal Justice Training Commission sought to revoke his peace officer certification based on the findings.
