In March 2022, Officer Ramsay responded to reports of a man, Brenton Eckerson, causing disturbances. Bodycam footage showed Ramsay drawing his firearm upon arrival and, after a verbal exchange, entering Eckerson’s home without a warrant. Ramsay pushed Eckerson into a banister, leading to a physical altercation where Eckerson was struck multiple times. Eckerson sustained injuries, including a torn ACL. A federal lawsuit alleges violations of Eckerson’s First and Fourth Amendment rights, citing excessive force and unlawful entry. The case is ongoing.
