In August 2013, Officer Mark Buell detained 13-year-old Diwani Greenwell outside his home while investigating a burglary. Despite Greenwell not matching the suspect’s description, Buell handcuffed him, leading to a federal lawsuit alleging unreasonable search and seizure, false imprisonment, and assault. The lawsuit also highlighted offensive images from a Facebook page purportedly created by Buell. The case was filed in September 2013.
