In April 2021, Deputy Scotti arrested Thomas Riles, who had a serious medical condition requiring specialized equipment. Riles alleged that Scotti ignored his requests for medical attention and failed to retrieve all necessary medical supplies from his vehicle. A lawsuit was filed alleging deliberate indifference to Riles’s medical needs. The court granted summary judgment in favor of Scotti, dismissing the claim against him.
