In 2019, while serving as a transport officer, Karr sexually abused an inmate during a medical transport. Upon the inmate’s report, Karr was immediately suspended, terminated following an investigation, and the case was referred for prosecution. The victim filed a lawsuit alleging violations of her constitutional rights. The court granted summary judgment in favor of other defendants, leaving the individual capacity claims against Karr pending.
