In the 1990s, Sheriff Don Dorsey was convicted of embezzling over $100,000 in public funds. He misappropriated drug-buy money from the narcotics division, using it for personal expenses such as gambling and paying for services at a Nevada brothel. Dorsey was found guilty on eight charges, resulting in five years’ probation, community service, and a $1,600 fine.
