In November 2011, Sergeant Joel Dean made inappropriate sexual comments to Deputy Jaime Schmidt, including repeating a crude remark she had previously shared in confidence. In December 2011, he repeated the comment in the squad room. Schmidt filed an internal complaint reporting sexual harassment and favoritism by Dean.
