    In 2015, Deputy Ian Clark was involved in the arrest of Joseph Duke III, who later died while in custody. The Duke family filed a lawsuit alleging inadequate medical care and supervision. In 2018, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit affirmed the district court’s decision granting qualified immunity to Clark and other individual defendants, and found no basis to hold the Sheriff’s Office liable.
