In September 2018, Corporal Kristofer Gray was involved in the case of Cindy Arnold, an inmate at Jackson County Adult Detention Center. During a 10:00 p.m. headcount, Gray failed to properly check on Arnold, who was later found unresponsive and pronounced dead. Gray admitted to not following proper headcount procedures, stating he avoided looking into Arnold’s cell because she was nude. This incident led to a lawsuit alleging deliberate indifference to Arnold’s medical needs. The court documents detail Gray’s actions and the subsequent legal proceedings.
