Former Deputy Quinten Stump was involved in multiple incidents of misconduct. In December 2019, he used deadly force in two separate car chases under questionable circumstances. On April 9, 2020, he and Undersheriff Tracy Weisenhorn fatally shot unarmed Zach Gifford during a traffic stop; Gifford was shot three times in the back. Stump was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
