Written by Former Undersheriff Tracy Weisenhorn was involved in the fatal shooting of unarmed Zach Gifford on April 9, 2020. During a traffic stop, Weisenhorn initiated the stop and, after Gifford attempted to flee, she fired the first shot, hitting him in the back. Gifford was shot three times in total and died from his injuries. Despite her involvement, she was not criminally charged.
