Officer Buzzell – Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office

In 2009, Officer Buzzell was named in a lawsuit alleging repeated sexual harassment of a female corrections officer, including making lewd comments and asking inappropriate questions about her personal life and the female inmates she oversaw. The lawsuit resulted in an undisclosed settlement in 2010. Additionally, Buzzell allegedly sent unwanted explicit photos of himself to colleagues, former inmates, and a volunteer for years without being punished, until he resigned amid an internal investigation in 2018.
