On November 26, 2010, Detective Kirby Dollar participated in the assault of a handcuffed man, Patrick Harrington, who was lying on the ground and not resisting. The assault caused serious bodily injury to Harrington. Dollar pleaded guilty on August 11, 2011, to a civil rights charge for his role in the assault and faced a maximum sentence of 57 months in prison.
