In 2014, Deputy Vance Owen Johnson was charged with official misconduct and reckless driving. While off duty, he allegedly drove recklessly in pursuit of individuals he believed had damaged his personal vehicle. Later, while on duty, he confronted one of the individuals at their home, demanding payment and threatening criminal charges. Johnson no longer works for the Sheriff’s Office.
