In 2017, Deputy Evan Twedt participated in an illegal search of a suspect’s vehicle without a warrant, alongside Deputy Matt Boice. They discovered a shotgun in the trunk, violating department policy. Twedt failed to report the search and attempted to conceal it. In 2019, Sheriff Ty Trenary terminated Twedt for dishonesty and policy violations.
