    In September 2015, Deputy Vanwagoner trespassed on private property while hunting to track a wounded elk. He entered a plea in abeyance, meaning the case would be dismissed if no other law violations occurred. Initially facing a six-month suspension, the Utah Peace Officer Standards & Training Council ultimately issued a letter of caution after deliberation.
