In 2018, Sheriff Doug Anderson was named in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by former jail commander Lynn McAffee. McAffee alleged that his firing violated due process and was retaliatory after he raised concerns about Anderson’s conduct. The lawsuit claimed Anderson made dishonest and disruptive decisions, including failing to follow through on promises to improve prisoner transportation, which negatively affected deputy morale. Additionally, McAffee reported gender discrimination and stereotyping against female lieutenants under Anderson’s leadership. The case highlighted internal conflicts and alleged misconduct within the Juab County Sheriff’s Office.
