David Arredondo – Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department

In January 2013, Deputy David Arredondo was involved in the detention and subsequent invasive searches of David Eckert, who was suspected of concealing drugs. Despite multiple searches, including anal cavity examinations and a colonoscopy, no drugs were found. The incident led to a lawsuit resulting in a $1.6 million settlement paid by Hidalgo County and the City of Deming. There is no public record of disciplinary action taken against Deputy Arredondo in connection with this case.
