In 2016, Sergeant Felder was accused of telling a citizen to ‘shut up’ during a phone conversation. Despite the citizen later denying the incident, Felder was placed on unpaid suspension, demoted, and eventually fired in January 2017. Felder filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination and defamation, resulting in a $25,000 settlement in October 2019.
