In 2016, while serving as a deputy, Braden pleaded guilty to official misconduct after presenting an altered police report to a pharmacy to obtain Oxycodone. He resigned from the Sheriff’s Office and was dismissed by the Cairo Police Department. Despite this, he was later hired by the Menands Police Department and promoted to full-time detective in 2020.
